TURNING DISASTER INTO A PROPAGATING LEAF
By Nancy Robitaille
Occasionally you receive a leaf which has accidentally been damaged. The stem is broken and there is no way you can use it to propagate babies. It seems it’s always the most cherished leaf that this happens to.
This disaster can be fixed. Simply take the leaf, cut across the leaf from the edge to the midrib. Do not cut the midrib. Then cut the other side. Trim the midrib and allow the leaf to harden in the air.
This new stem may now be planted as usual in a small amount of soil and you will be able to see babies growing in a short time.
